Davie Lee Jones

Pictured with Rhea Tannehill and Jay Carmean are Reverend Virgil Lee Jones and his brother, John L. Jones, of Oxford. Their brother, Davie Lee Jones, was performing maintenance on Hwy 278 just outside of Oxford for the Mississippi Dept. of Transportation when he was struck and killed by an 18 wheeler. A lawsuit on behalf of all wrongful death beneficiaries was filed in Lafayette County Circuit Court. An investigation by Tannehill & Carmean revealed that the 18 wheeler had multiple equipment violations that should have rendered the vehicle out of service the day of the accident and the wrongful death claim was settled through mediation.
